YouTuber Ronke Raji has responded to allegations she downplayed the viral #EndSARS campaign.

The lifestyle vlogger faced criticism on Sunday for her Instagram post on Friday which seemed to relegate #EndSARS to the background after highlighting her love for bicycles.

I’ve always loved riding bikes since I was younger, It’s one of the things I knew I had to get immediately we got our own place. Riding bikes are a lot like life you either know how to ride it or you don’t. Along the journey of life we will get scrapes and bruises from different places but once you learn to ride things become easier. Being in a positive mind space helps you go through the pitfalls in life so much easier. Spending time doing activities you love even as you are home really improves your mood. As we approach world mental health day I hope this is a reminder that no matter what, you can always pull through. Stay positive, I believe in you 🌱 ___ Right now in Nigeria SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad) is needs to be under investigation because of the brutality to civilians. This has been going on for as long as I lived there please be aware and let’s band together for a change in this current climate

Ronke told her critics in a tweet on Sunday, “If you have a platform you can go ahead and use it as you please but the way I use my platform does not concern you. I have the ability to help in the ways I see fit. Please go and sit down.”

She tweeted further: “If yall have this much time to much time to spread toxicity & hate in 2020 you better have strength to face our real enemy. Can’t be anymore confused that you think I should be more viral than the people in our Government embezzling money creating no jobs & SARS taking our lives.”

The #EndSARS campaign has been dominating conversations in the past few days, with young people demonstrating against a deadly police unit the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

Following international and local pressure, the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu on Sunday dissolved the squad.
