Pop artiste Runtown has deleted a tweet where he knocked Nigerians joking about leaving the country after President Muhammadu Buhari failed to address the Lekki shooting in his broadcast on Thursday.
“Anyone making memes and jokes about running away is stup*d and lost their da*n minds!!!” the singer had written earlier on Friday.
Following reports that Buhari was meeting with former Nigerian leaders over the security crisis, Runtown apologised for his comments, saying he was too harsh.
“They are uniting, see why we all have to stay together, my previous tweet was harsh and I TAKE IT BACK! Sorry guys, love to everyone out there fighting,” he wrote.
Born Douglas Agu, Runtown has been part of the #EndSARS protest since it began on October 8.
