Ailing veteran actor, Sadiq Daba, has once again reached out to the public for financial assistance for medical treatment.
This is coming three months after billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, announced he would take over the medical expenses of the actor who was reportedly diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, president of Women Arise for Change Initiative, Joe Okei-Odumakin, disclosed that Daba’s health has taken a nosedive.

“We use this medium to appeal to you, our great people to lend a helping hand to our ailing TV Personality.
May your love for our fellow human beings be eternally rewarded as we pray for a swift healing of our friend, Sadiq.
“Please send your support to the dedicated account and send the alert through messenger,” Okei-Odumakin wrote, adding that they have a N1million target.
Daba was diagnosed with leukaemia and prostate cancer in 2017.
He travelled to London for treatment after a campaign for fund organised by Okei-Odumakin, Soni Irabor and Azuka Jebose.

Following reports earlier this year that Daba had been diagnosed with COPD, Otedola announced that he would take care of his medical expenses.
In a statement released in July, Otedola said “I heard about Mr. Sadiq Daba’s health condition when it was brought to my attention through an online news story I read two days ago.
“I was saddened to hear that he had taken ill again after overcoming his challenges from prostate cancer just two years ago.
“From the news report, I gathered that he was rushed to the Emergency Unit of LUTH after being diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
“I must say that even though I don’t know Mr. Daba personally, he is a face I am familiar with through the old TV drama production ‘Cock Crow at Dawn’ which I used to watch while growing up.
“I was moved by a sense of nostalgia and concern when I read of his medical situation recently and decided to take over his medical bills. He has been visited and arrangements are being made to support him.
“In other climes, the likes of Sadiq Daba and other such actors who more or less paved the way for the entertainment industry and the Nollywood industry in Nigeria (which is touted as the 3rd largest movie industry in the world) would be celebrated as Icons and due recognition would be accorded to them.
“For me, taking care of Sadiq’s medical expenses is my little way of showing appreciation and gratitude for the good memories he created for me and others in the past.”

The businessman also sent two representatives – Pastor Phillip Akinola and Dr. Oriaifoh – to present drugs and an oxygen converter to the ailing actor.
“This is in addition to arrangements for a physiotherapist to be with me,” Daba confirmed in an August Facebook post.
A source close to the actor told Qed.ng that actor is now battling for his life at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
“The impression that millions was paid for his hospital bill is wrong,” this online newspaper was told.
While he hopes that Otedola or his representatives will help with finance, Daba has reached out to the public for help.
