Senior Pastor, Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi, has thanked Ikenna Nweke for returning a lost wallet containing huge sum of money and credit card in Japan recently.
Mr Nweke, who is a PhD student at the University of Tsukuba, Japan, and also a teaching assistant in the same university, said he stumbled on the wallet while climbing the staircase to buy some items for his wife at the Tsukuba centre.
Adeyemi, in a tweet early Monday, joined several public figures who have commended Nweke for his noble act.
“Thank you Mr Ikenna Nweke, the Nigerian PhD student in Japan, who found a lost wallet with a large sum of money and credit cards, and returned them through the police. Without sound values, we really don’t have value. Thank you again,” the cleric wrote.
Born and raised in Okpoko, Onitsha, Anambra State, Nweke hails from Amauzari in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
He moved to Japan in 2013 through a Japanese government-sponsored scholarship programme.
He has received commendations from President Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) among others.
