Actor Sam Ajibola and his wife Sandra have filed a ten million naira lawsuit against bloggers Tunde Ednut and Gossip Bobo.
In May last year, a photo of Sam’s family with former president Olusegun Obasanjo went viral on social media as many pointed out the resemblance between Sam’s son and Obasanjo.
Gossip Bobo subsequently made a TikTok video, claiming that Sam’s wife was Obasanjo’s former secretary and also made remarks suggesting that their baby shares a striking remembrance with the former president.
On his part, Tunde Ednut reposted the video which generated more reactions from Instagram users.
On Friday, Sam and his wife through their lawyers filed a defamation suit against Tunde and Gossip Bobo. The bloggers were given 72 hours to pay ten million naira each to the couple for “irreparable damages occasioned by your libellous publications.”
They were also given a 48-hour ultimatum to make a public apology on the social media platform X formerly known as Twitter and also on Instagram.
Sam also made a lengthy post on Instagram saying that his son was bullied and his wife’s fidelity was questioned as a result of the video.
He wrote in parts: “So contrary to many opinions as to why I haven’t come out to clear the air on the defamation of my wife’s character on this issue, you will all please bear with me as I needed some real good time to properly analyze all aspects of it and come up with a best solution to all of these bickerings that has been happening since I announced my wife to the world.

“This Harrasment has continued from my engagement news where they began with false allegations that my wife was older than I am and was controlling my decisions like leaving The Johnsons, to blatant lies that she was called my class captain, and now for over a year these trolls have further bear false witness to the point where they question my wife’s unquestionable fidelity to me, and ultimately bullying my innocent son who they have planned to grow and meet these false allegations.”
Sam and Sandra got married in January 2020.
They welcomed their son in December 2021.
