Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ondo State counterpart Rotimi Akeredolu on Sunday, June 5 joined in the celebration of Prophet TB Joshua, founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN).
The Lagos-based church marked the first memorial service of Joshua who died on June 5, 2021.
While Akeredolu, who was present during the funeral of Joshua, was represented this time around by his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; Sanwo-Olu was represented by his special adviser on religious matters, Bukola Adeleke.
The governors, through their representatives, thanked SCOAN leader Pastor Evelyn Joshua and the church for keeping Joshua’s legacy.
Sanwo-Olu noted that it still remains a shock that Joshua had passed on to glory, saying his good works of charity were examples of service to God.
Akeredolu said, “We celebrate the life and legacy of a great man that passed through this place. Prophet TB Joshua lived and died, but he lives on.”
Among those who also gave goodwill messages at the event were the Deputy Speaker of Cross Rivers State, Joseph Bassey; Bishop Asil Jamali from Pakistan, and Pastor Carlos Alvaro from Paraguay.
During his exhortation, Pastor Bernard Mulder from South Africa urged Christians to look beyond the tragedies of life and focus on what God called them to do.
“We have a race to run. We have to finish strong. Sometimes in this journey, you have to look beyond the cross to the joy. Focus on what Jesus has planned for you. What does it mean to finish strong? The day you cross over, and your heart is offence-free,” he said.
The event concluded with the unveiling of the TB Joshua Foundation.
