Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed former commissioner of budget and economic planning Sam Egube as his deputy chief of staff.
Mr Egube replaces Gboyega Soyannwo who died recently, the governor’s spokesman Gboyega Akosile said on Wednesday.
Egube will be sworn in on Thursday.
Soyannwo was buried on May 23 at the Vaults and Gardens.
This followed a funeral service at The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), City of David Parish, Victoria Island.
Sanwo-Olu and his wife, Ibijoke; Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat; secretary to the Lagos State Government, Abimbola Salu-Hudeyin; head of service, Olabode Agoro; and chief of staff, Tayo Ayinde, attended the funeral service to bid Soyannwo farewell.
The service was also attended by members of the Lagos State executive council, permanent secretaries, All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful, religious and traditional leaders, captains of industry, entrepreneurs, and public servants, as well as family, friends, and associates of the deceased.
Soyannwo died on May 15 after a brief illness at age 55.
