Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has celebrated his wife Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu ahead of her 58th birthday on Wednesday, January 8.
In a statement released by his special adviser on media and publicity Gboyega Akosile on Tuesday, the governor described his wife as a reliable partner in Lagos’ development agenda and a source of strength and inspiration in both public and private life.
Dr. Sanwo-Olu, a medical doctor and chairperson of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), was lauded for her commitment to improving the lives of Lagosians, particularly women and children, through her initiatives and support for the THEMES+ development agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration.
“My jewel of inestimable value has been a major pillar of my success, standing by me all through the journey for several decades,” Mr Sanwo-Olu said. “Ibijoke is worth celebrating for being a God-fearing and kind-hearted woman, a good companion, and a caring and loving wife and mother.”
The governor praised his wife’s dedication to public service, noting her impact as a compassionate first lady and her contribution as a medical practitioner, pointing out that they have been married for almost three decades
“She has played critical roles through her pet projects and people-oriented programmes sponsored by her office and COWLSO, ensuring that good governance and dividends of democracy are delivered to Lagos residents, particularly women and children,” he added.
On behalf of his family and the people of Lagos, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude for her unwavering support and wished her good health, prosperity, and continued impact in the years ahead.
