Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has gifted the London to Lagos solo driver Pelumi Nubi a house and brand new car, naming her tourism ambassador of the state.
Nubi, 29, arrived at the Nigeria-Benin Republic border around 10am on Sunday after 68 days on the road.
She was received at the border on behalf of Lagos State Government by the commissioner of tourism, arts and culture, Toke Benson-Awoyinka; and the special adviser to the governor on tourism, arts and culture, Idris Aregbe.
There were also performances by the state’s cultural troupe.

Sanwo-Olu on Monday met and gave her a car with a customised plate number.
The governor also said the state would cover the cost of her trip from London to Lagos.
Nubi was led to the governor by the chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
Others who joined in meeting the governor were her parents, Nubi’s media team, and the vice-chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Nubi, who is based in the UK, donated the vehicle which she used for the road trip to the Lagos State Government’s J Randle Center for Yoruba Culture and History.
