Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy Obafemi Hamzat on Tuesday attended the night of tributes and service of songs for Tayo Sanyaolu.
Sanyaolu was the senior special assistant to Mr Sanwo-Olu on tertiary education, youths and students affairs.
He died in a car crash on July 29 near the Army Cantonment, Maryland, Ikeja.
Sanyaolu was the sole occupant of the vehicle, a black Toyota Camry car, which was on top speed. The vehicle rammed into the Keystone Bank ATM located close to the Army Cantonment.
He was the immediate past youth leader of the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hamzat shared pictures from the night of tributes on Instagram. He said, “May Almighty Allah (swt) continue to grant him eternal rest. Ameen.”
Sanwo-Olu had described the death of Sanyaolu as a personal loss.
In a condolence message signed by his chief press secretary Gboyega Akosile back in July, Sanwo-Olu expressed his sympathy to the family of Sanyaolu, describing the late aide as a ”loyal, committed, hardworking and dedicated co-worker in the Greater Lagos agenda”.
