Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy Obafemi Hamzat have both sent congratulatory messages to the state’s head of service Hakeem Muri-Okunola on his 50th birthday.
In his message posted to Instagram on Thursday, Sanwo-Olu said Muri-Okunola has played pivotal role in the transformation of the state.
“On behalf of my dear wife, Ibijoke, and the good people of Lagos State, I heartily congratulate the Head of Service of Lagos State, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, on the occasion of his 50th birthday celebration,” he said.
“Over the years, you have emblazoned your name on the state and national stage as one of the youngest Heads of Service in the country and that of the most viable State Public Service in Nigeria and a loud voice of professional civil service.
“You have played critical roles in the growth and transformation of Lagos State Civil Service, thereby setting examples for others to follow.”
The governor prayed that God would continue to preserve and grant Muri-Okunola good health to enable him render more service to humanity, Lagos and Nigeria.
Hamzat described Muri-Okunola in his Instagram post as his “aburo” a Yoruba word that means younger one.
“As you celebrate your golden jubilee today, may Almighty Allah (SWT) continue to bless and increase you in wisdom, may He grant you good health, sound mind, long life, prosperity, and a discerning mind as you start another chapter in your life. Amen,” he wrote.
Ex-governor Akinwunmi Ambode appointed Muri-Okunola head of service in December 2018.
