Comedian and television show host, Gbenga Adeyinka, has thrown his heavy weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the 50-year-old humour merchant declared that the man who defeated incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in the APC governorship primary election has his vote.
According to him, he had a session with Sanwo-Olu on Monday during which the two discussed entertainment and the way forward.
“I met a man focused, prepared and determined to take LAGOS further. He has very deep and precise plans for entertainment and entertainers and I am happy to throw my weight behind him,” Gbenga wrote.
Gbenga Adeyinka currently enjoys the patronage of Governor Ambode.
He has performed at more Lagos State functions than many of his contemporaries since the incumbent governor was sworn in in May 2019.
If elected governor in 2019, Sanwo-Olu is expected to continue that relationship.
