Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s media aide Gboyega Akosile has debunked report that Tokunbo Wahab, a former special adviser on education, has been appointed as chief of staff to the Lagos State governor.
Mr Akosile made the rebuttal in a post across his social media channels on Monday, tagging the purported appointment as fake news.
“Shun fake news! Governor @jidesanwoolu is yet to make any appointments. When he does, it’d be made and announced through the right channels,” Akosile wrote.
Mr Sanwo-Olu dissolved his cabinet on May 24 ahead of his swearing-in for a second term on May 29.
Tayo Ayinde, an accountant, served as Sanwo-Olu’s chief of staff during the governor’s first term in office.
Mr Wahab, who recently clocked 51, served as special adviser on education.
He aspired to become the governor in 2015 on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) but the party chose Sanwo-Olu as its candidate.
