Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday celebrated one of his predecessors Babatunde Fashola on his 58th birthday.
With Twitter still suspended in the country, Mr Sanwo-Olu posted his message on Instagram.
He said Mr Fashola, who is currently minister of works and housing, raised the bar during his eight years in office as Lagos governor.
“On behalf of my adorable wife Ibijoke, the good people of Lagos State as well as the All Progressives Congress (APC), I heartily congratulate my brother, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) on the occasion of his 58th birthday,” Sanwo-Olu said.
“As a true ambassador of our dear state, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) set a high standard in the administration of Lagos State with great achievements and laudable projects, which are visible in different parts of the State.
“A seasoned administrator, legal icon and technocrat who has used his skills and positions in different capacities for the growth of Lagos State and Nigeria, Mr. Fashola raised the bar in corporate governance and administration while serving as Governor of Lagos State, with great records of laudable achievements during his eight years tenure of office.
On this special day, I wish BRF, the very best that life can offer. Amen.”
Sanwo-Olu clocked 56 on June 25. His immediate predecessor Akinwunmi Ambode turned 58 on June 14.
