Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has shared photos from the decoration ceremony of the state commissioner of police Idowu Owohunwa to the rank of assistant inspector general of police (AIG) on social media.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun decorated Owohunwa with the new rank on Thursday.
Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello was also at the ceremony.
In his post on Friday, Mr Sanwo-Olu congratulated Owohunwa on his new position.

He wrote, “Yesterday, I attended the decoration ceremony of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, as he was decorated with a new rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
“Congratulations to AIG Idowu Owohunwa on this outstanding achievement.”
Owohunwa is among 12 commissioners of police approved for promotion to the rank of AIG by the Police Service Commission earlier this month.
