Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been sworn in as the 15th Governor of Lagos State at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Onikan, Lagos Island.
He becomes the 6th civilian governor of the state described as the nation’s economic hub.
Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Opeyemi Oke, administered the oath of office to Mr Sanwo-Olu at about 11:40 am Wednesday.
Obafemi Hamzat was also sworn in as Deputy Governor of Lagos at about 11:20 am after taking the oath of office.
Sanwo-Olu had arrived at TBS at about 10:30 am dressed in white robes and traditional embroidered cap.
He was received with cheers from the teeming crowd at the venue.
General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), David Olukoya, led the opening prayer with the Chief Imam of Lagos.
