Former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Tuesday worshipped together at the Eid praying ground in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe also joined thousands of other Muslims at the praying ground.
The three prominent citizens observed the two Raka’ats prayers to commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir. Chief imam of llorin Mohammed Bashir led the prayer.
The chief imam later slaughtered his sacrificial ram at the Eid praying ground immediately after the prayer and his sermon to allow other Muslim faithful offer their sacrifice.
In his sermon, the chief imam admonished Muslims to imbibe the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim by being obedient to constituted authority.
He urged Nigerians to shun destructive tendencies capable of retarding the growth and development of the nation.
Emir of llorin and chairman, Kwara council of traditional rulers, lbrahim Sulu-Gambari, in his remark urged Nigerians to heed to experts and government advice against the outbreak of COVID-19.
The traditional ruler however called on the Federal Government to adopt more proactive measures against COVID-19 to ease its effect on the economy and humanity.
A Kwara State Government white paper had in May indicted Saraki, former Kwara governor Abdulfattah Ahmed and others for allegedly selling Kwara property illegally.
