Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has attended a candlelight sit-out organised by friends of Prof. Pius Adesanmi who died last Sunday in a plane crash in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The gathering began at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Unity Fountain, Abuja, in memory of Adesanmi.
The sit-out is part of a 7-day event in honour of the late writer and scholar.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Saraki wrote: “President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, at a Candlelight Sit-Out organized by friends of Prof. Pius Adesanmi at Unity Fountain, Abuja.”
Until his death, Adesanmi was a professor of English at Carleton University in Canada.
Another Nigerian, Ambassador Abiodun Bashua, died in the crash.
