Quincy, the half-brother of kidnapped DNA Twins, and other concerned individuals have raised the sum of N300,000 “to help support the family”, Qed.ng has learnt.
The teenage music duo, Clint and Blair, were reportedly kidnapped on Sunday on their way to Lagos from Abuja.
According to reports, gunmen ambushed the EKENSON Transport Company bus they were travelling in, shot the driver, robbed the passengers and took the twins away.
The kidnappers were said to have contacted the family and demanded a N6 million ransom which was later increased to N10 million with instructions that the money must be paid before Tuesday, April 26.
An organisation identified as The La Vida Foundation then set up a website “seeking kind-hearted Nigerians to help support the family with donations.”
Alternatively, people were told to pay into a Diamond Bank account belonging to the twins’ mother, Becky Opara.
Apart from Quincy, a neighbour simply identified as Joe is also reportedly involved in the campaign to raise money for the twins.
DNA Twins, who took part in Glo X Factor in 2013, had qualified for the finals of The Voice Nigeria and were said to be on their way to participate in the competition when they were taken.
