A 28- year- old man, Adamu Buga, is to spend the next six months in kirikiri Prisons for burglary and stealing of his employer’s money and television.
The Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court gave the ruling after Buga pleaded guilty to the offence.
Chief Magistrate Mr. T. O. Shomade sentenced Buga to six months imprisonment without an option of fine.
“This will serve as deterrent to others, ‘’Shomade ruled.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Raji Akeem, told court that the offences were committed sometime in last September at GAK Universal Allied Industries Ltd. at Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.
Akeem said that the accused, a security guard, whose address was not given, gained entrance into one of the offices by breaking the ceiling and door.
The prosecutor said the broken ceiling and door were valued at N75, 000.
“The accused carted away with N99, 250, 00 and a plasma television valued at N150, 000.
“All efforts to locate him failed until he was sighted by one of the staff of the company, who raised alarm and a passerby helped in apprehending him, “Akeem said.
The offences contravened Sections 406, 287 and 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
