Security operatives, comprising the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Nigerian Army and others, dispersed protesters at the Lekki Toll Plaza in Lagos State on Thursday morning.
The protesters are calling on President Bola Tinubu to reverse certain policies believed to behind the harsh economy.
The security operatives’ action followed a court order which confined protesters to the Freedom Park in Ojota for the protest.
This came after the government filed an application over concerns that street protests may result in crisis similar to the 2020 #EndSARS protest.
