Senate grills Fashola, others as ministerial screening resumes

The Senate has resumed ministerial screening with the former minister of power, works and housing, Babatunde Fashola, the first to appear before it on Monday.

Fashola took the podium at 10:41 am after being introduced by Senate President Ahmad Lawan.

No less than 31 nominees have been screened so far by the Senate since it received the 43-man list from President Muhammadu Buhari last Tuesday.

Alongside Fashola, those scheduled for screening on Monday include Geoffrey Onyema (Enugu), Maryam Katagum (Bauchi), Clement Agba (Edo) and Suleiman Adamu (Jigawa).

Others are Goddy Jeddy-Agba (Cross River), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Gbemisola Saraki (Kwara), Muhammadu Mahmoud (Kaduna State).

The remaining three will take their turn on Tuesday. They are Sabo Nanunu (Kano), Saleh Mamman (Taraba) and Lai Mohammed (Kwara).
