Senator Kabiru Gaya, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Kano South at the Senate, has lost his son, Sadiq Gaya.
This is coming two years after Gaya, a former governor of Kano State, lost his wife Halima, in May 2020.
Sadiq, a lawyer at the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), died on Tuesday afternoon in Abuja.
His death was confirmed to reporters in Kano by Gaya’s spokesman Hussaini Indabwa.
He said the deceased was buried on Tuesday at about 4.00pm. The deceased is survived by a wife and two children.
Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has commiserated with Gaya over the development.
Ganduje, in a statement by his chief press secretary, Abba Anwar, described Sadiq’s death as a great loss.
“May Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala forgive all his shortcomings and reward his good deeds. We received the information with shock, “the statement quoted the governor as saying.
The governor paid a condolence visit to the deceased’s father at his Abuja residence.
