Controversial politician, Femi Fani-Kayode, got heads turning and tongues wagging at the Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday for reasons unrelated to allegations that he laundered millions of naira while serving as minister under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The man with many women’s names ticked on his bucket pulled a joker with the presence in court of his latest acquisition, pretty Miss Precious Chikwendu.
Fani-Kayode, who headed defeated President Goodluck Jonathan campaign organisation during the last general elections, got all the attention he craved as he walked into the court grounds with the Nollywood siren by his side.
Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia later adjourned the corruption case to July 1 following the absence of the lead prosecuting counsel, Festus Keyamo.
Fani-Kayode’s trial began in 2008 before Justice Ramat Mohammed when the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned accused him of laundering about N100 million while he was minister of culture and tourism, and subsequently of aviation minister.
The sum was, however, reduced to N2.1million on November 17, 2014 after Ms. Ofili-Ajumogobia dismissed 38 of the 40-count charge levelled against the man known as FFK for want of proof.
One thing that needs no proving though is the ex-minister’s taste for designer women.
