Nollywood actor, Seun Jimoh, has come after those criticising Tiwa Savage for saying men and women are not equal.
This Mavin Records singer had said in a radio interview with Toolz Oniru-Demuren on Wednesday that the man is the head of the home irrespective of how successful his wife may be.
“So I think as females when we realise that yeah we can be strong in our career, but when we are home we have to realise that the man is the head of the house,” she said.
That statement and others she made during the interview did not go down well with some feminists and others who argued that men and women are equal.
Coming to the singer’s defence in an Instagram post on Thursday, Seun said anyone who thinks men and women are equal has no business getting married or being in a proper heterosexual relationship.
“The fact that you are a successful woman doesn’t mean you shouldn’t cook or clean, it is no excuse,” the 32-year-old wrote.
Seun, who once threatened to kill a fan for calling his wife ugly, added: “I have successful women around me and they cook great, in time and as a duty. A respected husband is always a better husband, you can argue and fight all you want about this issue on social media, but the reality is the reality, a woman that cannot respect and acknowledge that her husband is the head has no business getting married and if she does should not be shocked if she eventually has to leave the marriage sooner or later.”
