Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known Winners’ Chapel International, Bishop David Oyedepo has come under attack over his claim that he is “dangerously wealthy”.
The 64-year-old made the boast during the opening session of Shiloh 2018, an annual programme of the church.
“I don’t share any booty from any government. I have a clear conscience. I am dangerously wealthy. I am rich, whatever I want, comes. That’s what they call wealth,” he said.
Among those who have come after the controversial clergyman are Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti and anti-established religion activist Daddy Freeze.
Both men posted their criticism on Instagram
Referring to Oyedepo’s recent faux pas over an article written by Dr Olatunji Dare on claim that President Muhammadu Buhari is a clone from Sudan, Seun mocked the cleric that he owns a university but does not understand satire.
“You can be ‘dangerously rich’ doesn’t mean u can buy enough knowledge to understand satire. Someone that doesn’t pay tax is dangerously rich and Lagos state is chasing me up and down,” the musician mocked.
On his part, radio presenter Daddy Freeze said his FreeNation movement raised N1.5million for a Winners’ Chapel usher who was delivered of a premature baby when all the church could give her was N35,000.
