Following a declaration of curfew in Lagos, security operatives on Tuesday clashed with #EndSARS protesters gathered at the Lekki toll gate.
The protesters have been demonstrating against police brutality for the past 13 days.
Lekki residents say they heard heavy gunfire around the toll gate.
It was gathered that the lights at the toll gate were switched off before masked security operatives began shooting.
Seven persons have been reportedly killed with many injured.
A video recorded by an eyewitness, which was reposted on Instablog9ja indicated that seven protesters were killed during the attack.
“They have killed more than seven people that I have seen with my eyes. They were killed with real bullets and not even rubber bullets,” the recorder of the footage said.
Earlier in the day, some Twitter users raised the alarm that closed circuit television (CCTV) at the toll gate had been disconnected.
Videos of continuous gunshots have gone viral on social media.
