Singer, Seyi Shay, has praised fellow singer, Yemi Alade, describing her as an incredible human being who always supports other women.
The 34-year-old stated this on Friday when she shared the video for Yemi Alade’s ong, ‘Boyz,’ in which she makes a cameo.
“Yemi is such an incredible human being. Always genuinely supporting her womankind.
Glad I cameo’d in this video by @yemialade #Boys …,” she captioned the Instagram post.
In May 2018, Seyi referred to Yemi as ‘African Beyonce’ on Instagram, to which Yemi replied, “My queen, I love her. Inspired by her but don’t wanna be a version of her. There can never be another her sef and there will never be another me.
But in an interview with This Day Live published in May 209, Yemi stated that she had no problem being compared to the American singer.
“I actually look up to Beyonce literally, but there can never be another her…I am in no way trying to downplay the greatness of the above mentioned (Beyonce) or the unmentioned. I am okay with being Yemi Alade, [in fact] I am so happy with being Yemi Alade because we are two amazing females representing the world of music.
“I have no hard feelings because I know that this [question] is because one of my sisters called me ‘African Beyonce.’ It did not come from a pained place o and I am not having issues with my sister o, make una no go coin problem from another place o. We dey kampe well well,” she told the magazine.
