Nollywood actress, Shan George, has been appointed chairman of the Callywood board by Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade.
The 49-year-old held back tears while sharing the news on Instagram on Friday.
“I cannot believe it. I just saw the news of my appointment as chairman Callywood board and I’m just grateful…,” she said in a video.
Callywood is the Cross River State branch of the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, and it was incorporated by Ayade in May 2016.
Other celebrities who have received political appointments from the governor include music executive, Ubi Franklin, and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Gedoni Ekpata.
