Kashim Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima, national security adviser Nuhu Ribadu and chief of staff to the president Femi Gbajabiamila have arrived at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal for its judgment scheduled for Wednesday.

The Labour Party’s national chairman Julius Abure, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed among others have also arrived at the tribunal sitting at the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

The tribunal will rule on petitions made against the electoral victory of President Bola Tinubu by the Labour Party (LP) and its presidential candidate in the February 25 election, Peter Obi; and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, among others.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) insists that Tinubu won the election and that claims made by the petitioners were not concrete enough to change the outcome of the election.

Tinubu arrived India on Tuesday for a six-day official visit, during which he will attend the G-20 leaders’ summit among other engagements.
