The Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) has announced on Wednesday the temporary suspension of its protest for the release of its leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat, have been in detention since 2015 despite a court order for his release.
Spokesman of IMN, Ibrahim Musa, had earlier said the Shiite group would challenge a court order obtained by the Federal Government proscribing its activities.
The group said the protest was suspended to give room for “some new openings” into the resolution of the matter.
