The football universe was left stunned following the dismissal of Claudio Ranieri as coach of reigning Premier League champions, Leicester City.
Ranieri achieved an unbelievable feat last season when he guided the Foxes to their first ever league title.
However, barely nine months after, the Italian has paid the ultimate price for an abysmal title defence by losing his job.
Leicester is 17th on the log with 21 points after 25 games with the board moving swiftly to save the club from a possible relegation.
But many Leicester supporters and prominent figures in the football world are extremely angered by Ranieri’s departure, with many feeling that what the 65-year-old achieved last season should have earned him immunity from the sack.
@cuppymusic wow, someone like Wenger should be sacked not Ranieri

After all that Claudio Ranieri has done for Leicester City, to sack him now is inexplicable, unforgivable and gut-wrenchingly sad.

surely Leicester should be building a statue of Ranieri rather than sacking him – or am I just old fashioned?

I mean, take any sentiment or context out of the equation and it’s the right decision. But genuinely think he should have been unsackable.
