The Nigeria international has been training with the Midlands club for some time now and even featured in the club’s Under 21s 3-2 loss to Swansea on Monday.
On Tuesday night Wolves’ Manager, Kenny Jackett, said thanks but no thanks to the former Newcastle striker, with the club posting the following message via their Twitter account:
“Kenny Jackett confirms that Wolves will not be proceeding with Shola Ameobi but thanks the forward for his brief time in training.”
The club’s hierarchy were probably not impressed with the 33-year-old 68 minute appearance for the youth team – therefore opted out of a deal.
Amoebi, who represented Nigeria at 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, is yet to find a new club after being released by Crystal Palace at the end of 2014/15 season.
