US-based show promoter Olawale Babalola, CEO of Fathia Entertainment, has cancelled the 9jafest Music and Comedy Concert over the sudden death of actor Sisi Quadri.
Recall that Olawale made a post on Instagram on Saturday in which he claimed that Quadri’s visa had been granted and a date fixed for him to travel to the US for the show before he died on Friday, March 1.
In a statement shared on the agency’s Instagram account on Friday, the show promoter said it was necessary to postpone the concert as a show of respect to the deceased and his family.
The statement read: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the postponement of the highly anticipated 9jafest Music and Comedy Concert, originally scheduled to take place on August 30th & September 1, 2024. This decision has been made by the Board of Fathia Entertainment & Showbiz in light of the sudden and tragic passing of Tolani Quadri Oyebamji (Sisi Quadril), one of the key performers at the event.
“We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding 9jafest, and we share in your disappointment over this unforeseen circumstance. However, we believe it is essential to pay our respects to Tolani Quadri Oyebamji (Sisi Quadri) and allow time for mourning among the entire Industry. Please rest assured that we are actively working to reschedule the event for a later date.
“We will provide updates as soon as possible regarding the new date and any changes to the lineup or program. Your tickets for the original event will remain valid for the rescheduled date, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend the new date.
