Singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has vented her frustration at being misinterpreted during interviews.

Late Tuesday, Simi took to her X account to express her anger, saying, “I’m deading that shit immediately. I said I don’t listen to music. I don’t know songs. If I wasn’t me, I wouldn’t know my songs, and if I wasn’t with my man, I probably wouldn’t know his either because I don’t listen to anything.

“I hate doing these stupid interviews sometimes because they don’t care about supporting you. They will either lie or post things out of context so people can pile on you. I hate wicked people.”

In a subsequent post, she clarified, “And I said this in response to a question in an interview.”

Further expressing her frustration, she wrote, “I’m so livid. Leave me alone.”

Simi explained her listening habits, stating, “I don’t listen to anything. I find a voice I like, binge their project for a month, and move on. I don’t listen to songs or know any artistes that are not in my face. It’s not a flex. It’s just my truth. I try and I’m terrible at it.”

This outburst follows an interview on the podcast Zero Conditions where she mentioned that she primarily listens to her husband, Adekunle Gold’s music.

“I don’t listen to anybody’s music. The reason I listen to my husband’s song is because I’m married to him,” she said, reiterating that she doesn’t generally listen to other artistes.

Her comments did not sit well with some netizens, resulting in backlash and prompting her to voice her frustrations on X.
