Celebrity couple Simi and Adekunle Gold have engaged in a light banter over their daughter’s state of origin.
In a video uploaded on Twitter on Wednesday, the singers could be seen with their daughter, trying to get latter to admit that she comes from their respective states.
Adekunle who hails from Lagos State showered praises of the little girl calling her omo baba Eko.
“You’re a Lagosian okay? Omo baba Eko,” Adekunle said.
Countering her husband’s statement, Simi insisted that their daughter hails from Ondo as she cited some loopholes in Lagos; one of which she mentioned was its overcrowded nature.
Responding, Adekunle who was bent on proving his wife wrong asked the latter about the last time she visited her home in Ondo State.
Replying to the question, Simi blamed him saying, “It’s because you refused to take me there.”
“She’s half Lagosian and half Ondosian. Dass on period,” Simi said.
The couple got married in 2019.
Their daughter Adejare was born in June 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Simi released a song titled ‘Duduke’ to commemorate the birth of Adejare.
