Singer and songwriter, Simi, has criticised Pastor Chris Oyakhilome for his controversial comment on women.
Oyakhilome, founder and president of LoveWorld Incorporated, popularly known as Christ Embassy, stirred controversy on social media after saying that God’s original plan was not to create a woman.
Responding to his comment in a now-deleted tweet, Simi said: “Qst is – why you so desperate for another human being to see you as master? Is it a complex? Are u worried u’re not enough to earn respect without Paul and co? Are you scared that if there was no bible, you really have nothing else to offer? Tell me.
“Cos the way I fucking see it, a real man commands respect by being good, kind, true, selfless, having a good heart. Any1 can call him/herself a leader, but true leaders serve and are selfless. Talking about Jesus. Did you even read about the Jesus you’re talking about? Lol. Jokes.”
A video of the pastor went viral on Thursday where he addresses a congregation, saying that God’s original plan was not to create a woman.
The video was reportedly culled from a sermon preached in 2016.
“The reason God made woman was because of man. He made the woman because of the man. That’s why he made the woman. So woman was not his original idea,” Oyakhilome said.
Following cheers from the crowd, the 55-year-old preacher continued, “Let’s see what the Bible says. When God had made everything and then he made Adam, the Bible says everything was very good. Already, everything was very good. No problem.”
More cheers followed before the cleric declared again saying “If most women had their father bold enough to talk to them they would be very successful in their marriage.”
