While artistes like Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Burna Boy and Olamide released their albums in 2015, some artistes promised to deliver new offerings in 2016.
Here are six artistes expected to be release an album in 2016.
- Wizkid
‘Ojuelegba’ singer, Wizkid, is expected to follow up his second album ‘Ayo’ with another one in 2016. The album which was previously scheduled to be released in 2015 will include singles like ‘Final (Baba Nla)’ and ‘Expensive S**t’. It will also feature collaborations with international artistes like Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Trey Songz and Tinie Tempah.
- Davido
If the baby mama drama does not get in the way, HKN act, Davido, will release his sophomore album titled Baddest in 2016. OBO as he his famously called already postponed the album release date thrice in 2015. Baddest will include collaborations with A-list artistes like Meek Mill, Olamide, Uhuru and DJ Buckz.
- Kiss Daniel
Rave of the moment, Kiss Daniel, after losing out in the Headies Next Rated category penned an open letter to fans where he revealed that his yet-to-be-titled debut album will be released in 2016. His chart topping singles ‘Woju’, ‘Laye’ and ‘Good Time’ will be included in the album.
- Yemi Alade
From winning multiple awards to being the first female Nigerian artiste with over 30 million views on YouTube for her video ‘Johnny’, MTV Africa Music Awards Best Female Act, Yemi Alade, had a great 2015 career wise. The 26-year-old is expected to break records with the release of her sophomore album, Mama Africa, in March 2016. According to the ‘Sugar’ singer, the album focuses on the joys and pains, the highs and lows, the strengths and weaknesses of the African woman.
- Cynthia Morgan
Dancehall act, Cynthia Morgan, revealed during an interview in 2015 that her debut album will be released under the Northside Inc. imprint in the first quarter of 2016. The controversial singer also added that the album will include collaborations with P-Square and Burna Boy.
- Omawumi
Songstress, Omawumi, will be dropping her third album in the spring of 2016. With productions from Cobhams Asuquo and collaborations with Grammy winning artiste Angelique Kido and Grammy nominee, Salif Keita, Omawumi’s album is one of the most anticipated in 2016 .
