Skit maker Stanley ‘Aboki’ Chjioke has died.
The comedian also known as Abokisofunny was involved in a motorcycle accident at the Cement bus stop in Lagos on Sunday.
His brother Chinonso confirmed his death on Facebook, describing the deceased as a rare gem.
He said, “I just lost a dear brother and it is really difficult for me to believe. Stanley AKA Aboki Funny you are a rare gem and a brother indeed. Death why now. I can’t stop crying.
“Does it mean I will not see you again? Does it mean our planned big project in September will not happen? I will miss you, my brother. Hmmm. May your soul rest in peace.”
A friend of the deceased identified as Denis Adinya also wrote on Facebook saying, “AN ICON HAS FALLEN. STANLEY CHIJIOKE ( AKA ABOKI THE MC). Your death shook the general members of the Catholic Youths Organization Of Nigerians ( CYON) and parishioners of St. Sabina’s Catholic Church Idi Mangoro Agege.
“The tremendous impact you created in us will forever be unforgettable in our memories, your dimensional gifts/ talent will remain a vacuum because no one will be able to fix it. My deepest sympathy and prayers are, that God should grant your soul internal rest. THE CYON WILL MISS YOUR IMPACT. REST IN PEACE MC ABOKI.
Another friend of the deceased Mary Ijeoma also wrote: “So like this now I will not see you again. Nawaoooo. Death you are indeed wicked. You really dealt with us this time. Why Chijioke nwannem. Onwu bikooooo. Chaiii.”
