Embattled musician Small Doctor was on Tuesday arraigned before an Ebute Metta Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, PUNCH has reported.
The 22-year-old is standing trial on charges of illegal possession of firearms and threatening to shoot a police officer.
He was arrested and paraded by the police on Monday along with three other suspects arrested with him in the Oshodi area of Lagos.
A source at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Yaba confirmed that all four men were arraigned.
Parading the men on Monday, Lagos police boss Imohimi Edgal said he was disappointed in musician because he had a case with the State CID for allegedly shooting a gun at a show in Agege where four persons were injured.
“I am concerned as one will expect that a popular musician like him would be a role model but his character of gangsterism is nothing to emulate,” Edgal said.
Small Doctor was among a group of popular Nigerian entertainers appointed police ambassador earlier this year.
The ‘Penalty’ singer and others like Omoni Oboli, Odunlade Adekola, Sound Sultan, Dr Sid, Korede Bello and Ruggedman were seen in police uniforms posing with celebrity police officer Dolapo Badmos.
He also performed at a show tagged ‘Entertainment Meets Security at the University of Lagos in March.
