The Managing Director of Sokoto Investment Company (SIC), Aliyu Sokoto, has died in a car crash at the age of 41.
Spokesperson for the Sokoto State Governor, Imam Imam, confirmed the death on Saturday.

Imam later informed Qed.ng that the accident happened at about 7am along Gusau-Sokoto federal highway.
Sokoto was appointed managing director of SIC in August 2016.
Until his appointment, he served as the business development manager in First Bank of Nigeria Plc.
Born in November 1975, the deceased attended Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto where he graduated with B.Sc. in Management Studies in 1999.
He had over a decade experience in investment financing and financial portfolio management.
His previous works include relationship, branch and area manager at Guaranty Trust Bank and platform officer at FSB International Bank.
He was buried around 1pm on Saturday according to Islamic rites.
