After a decade-long hiatus, Supermom, the reality television show celebrating mothers across Nigeria, is making a comeback in 2025. The announcement was made by Sola Fajobi, chief executive officer of Digital Interactive Media (DIM) and executive producer of the show, during a recent media interaction.
Supermom, which was last aired in 2015, gained widespread acclaim for its heartfelt portrayal of motherhood, including stories from the mothers of Nigerian celebrities. Fajobi expressed excitement about the show’s return, emphasising its mission to honour mothers in various forms—biological, adoptive and stepmothers—who exemplify unconditional love, care and guidance.
“A lot of people believe that a mother is any woman who gives birth to a child. However, it is important to note that mothers come in different forms,” Fajobi explained. “A mother is a woman who nurtures, cares for and provides unconditional love to her children, whether biological, adoptive, or otherwise. She often plays a central role in raising, guiding, and supporting her children through various stages of life. Beyond biological ties, the term mother can also symbolise someone who assumes a maternal role by offering care, protection, and emotional support. And this is why we have decided to bring back the Supermom reality TV show.”
Abidemi Alli-Balogun, the brand manager of the show, revealed details about the upcoming season. For the 2025 edition, the grand prize is a brand-new house for the winner. The first runner-up will receive a brand-new car, while the second runner-up will be awarded cash prizes.
Alli-Balogun added that top local and international brands have already shown interest in supporting the show, and preparations are in full swing, with production crews working at various locations across the country.
Sola Fajobi confirmed that the new season of Supermom will begin airing on at least 50 television stations across Nigeria every weekend during the third quarter of 2025.
