Nigerian entertainers including Sola Sobowale, Bimbo Akintola, Mo Abudu and Jennifer Eliogu on Friday attended the 80th birthday party of fashion designer Zainab Abah Folawiyo, better known as Sisi Abah.
The party started with an early morning prayer at her residence, in Ikoyi, Lagos State which was followed by an after party at the same venue.
Other personalities and dignitaries who attended the event are; former president Olusegun Obasanjo; business woman Bola Shagaya; Senator Florence Ita- Giwa; Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his wife Ibironke Sanwo-Olu; wife of the All Progressive Congress Presidential candidate Senator Oluremi Tinubu; chairman of Heirs Holdings, UBA, Tony Elumelu; former governor of Delta State, James Ibori and his wife Senami; publisher Guardian Newspapers Mrs Maiden Ibru and Olori Ladun Sijuade.
Born and raised in Ghana to a family of dress makers, Abah Folawiyo relocated to Nigeria with her mother and set up her fashion label, Labanella in the 70’s in Surulere area of Lagos.
She has continued to set the pace as a custodian of style as she fills the position of honorary matron of the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria.
The woman of style is the widow of the late business mogul and philanthropist, Wahab Iyanda Folawiyo.
