Gov. Charles Soludo of Anambra has urged religious leaders to intensify prayers for the spiritual cleansing of the state and support efforts aimed at rebuilding the moral values of its youths.
Soludo made the call on Wednesday night when he attended the last day of a two-day healing and deliverance crusade organised by the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, in Awka.
He said, “Our people are known for hard work and innovation, not for kidnapping, internet fraud, drug trafficking, ritual killings and other criminal activities.
“Our crusade against insecurity is to enable us to tackle the problem from the foundation, to cleanse the state so that evil will give way for good to be enthroned in Anambra.
“I solicit prayers for the state and we must collectively redirect the minds of our youths towards productivity and positive impact.
“Our religious leaders have a role in helping to reshape the minds of young people to contribute to building a safer and more prosperous Anambra state.”
The governor commended Dr Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of the Church, for the orderliness of the event and for avoiding inconveniencing road users.
Responding, Enenche described Anambra as a land deep in strong tradition, honour, respect and leadership.
He expressed his readiness to partner with the state government in equipping the youths with skills and empowering them financially.
He also urged the residents to fear God to attract His blessings.
“Anambra state is home to some of the most talented and innovative individuals and I am optimistic that the crusade will bring about a transformation in the state,” he said.
