Ivy Ifeoma, the spouse of singer Paul Okoye, has responded to a critic who questioned the authenticity of her breast milk based on its colour.
The new mother recently shared a video of her breast milk on Instagram, prompting a follower to claim that the milk appeared diluted and did not resemble “real” breast milk.
The critic wrote, “That thing you brought out is formula, not breast milk. Breast milk is a bit yellowish.”
Reacting to the comment on her Instagram Story, Ivy addressed the misconception with a sharp yet informative response.
“Some of you guys in the comments aren’t bright. When did all humans become the same? Do you know that the color changes over time? The ‘yellowish’ one is colostrum-infused,” she stated.
Ivy, who recently welcomed her first child, questioned whether the critic was even a mother.
She expressed frustration over misleading remarks that could confuse or discourage new mothers, explaining that breast milk changes in color and composition, especially during the colostrum stage, which is rich in nutrients.
“Don’t knock what you don’t know and don’t confuse new/expecting mums,” she concluded.
Paul Okoye and Ivy welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, in October in the United States.
Paul, who shares older children with his ex-wife Anita Okoye, posted a heartwarming video of them meeting their new sibling.
The singer described the period as one of immense joy for his family.
