Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has joined the band of those criticising President Muhammadu Buhari for going on 800 metres walk after the Eid-el-Kabir prayer in Daura on Tuesday.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, had described the walk as proof that his boss is fit to seek re-election in 2019.
An unimpressed Murray-Bruce of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), however, said in a tweet on Wednesday that Buhari should be working instead of walking.
The 62-year-old said someone should play the song, ‘Work’ by Barbadian superstar, Rihanna, for the President who he did not mention by name.
Someone should play the song ‘work, work, work, work, work’ by @rihanna for a certain President so he can #WorkNotWalk https://t.co/5SDn4ql3Ud

Murray-Bruce’s statement mirrors those of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo.
While Atiku said he regularly jogs for a mile, Dankwambo said it was tragic that the Presidency had reduced governance to walking.
Atiku and Dankwambo are both aspiring to contest for the Presidency on the platform of the PDP in the 2019 general elections.
