A 23-year-old man, Leng Huon, has allegedly killed his father, Leng Sao, after he stepped on his iPhone during a boozy house party, Mirror Online reports.
Police said Huon dropped his iPhone on the ground just outside the house in Prey Veng Province, Southern Cambodia.
His 50-year-old father came out of the house because he was disturbed by the noise from his party and then stepped on the phone.
Local police captain Chuon Samnan said Huon shouted at his father, who in turn kicked his son in the back during an argument over the phone.
Samnang said: “He then took the axe and hacked his father on the head, neck and chest, instantly killing him.”
The suspect was later arrested after fleeing the scene.
Police did not reveal the model of the iPhone; however, they said Houn would be charged for premeditated murder.
He faces up to 15 years in prison if found guilty.
