Businesswoman Sophia Momodu has confirmed that she’s now in a relationship, revealing that her new partner is financially secure.
The revelation came in a snippet from the upcoming episode of Real Housewives of Lagos Season 3, which began circulating online on Thursday.
In the viral clip, Sophia is seen chatting with fellow cast member Mariam Timmer, a PR expert and YouTuber, who jokingly inquired about her relationship status.
Smiling widely, Sophia responded, “Yes, I’ve got a boyfriend.”
The conversation took a candid turn as Sophia elaborated on her dating preferences following the drama surrounding her past relationship with singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
She made it clear that she wouldn’t consider dating a man who is financially struggling.
“I don’t think a broke man will know what to do with a woman like me. If you’re breathing next to me, you’re spending money,” she said, emphasising the importance of financial compatibility in her relationships.
Sophia also explained that she wouldn’t date someone in financial distress, noting that such a disparity could create tension, as her lifestyle and success could intimidate a man without the means to keep up.
Her comments come after a period of public scrutiny following her legal battle with Davido over child support for their daughter, Imade.
The case, which emerged shortly before Davido’s wedding to Chioma, involved the singer suing for child custody, with Sophia publicly sharing explicit text exchanges from her past relationship with the singer.
