The remains of the Soun of Ogbomoso Oba Oladunni Oyewumi have been interred in the palace, according to Islamic rites.
Chief imam of Ogbomoso Tholiat Ayilara led the funeral prayer on Sunday evening.
The Soun of Ogbomoso died at age 95 in the early hours of Sunday. He was on the throne for 48 years. Reports say he was ill for two weeks before his death.
Dignitaries who have already paid condolence visits to the palace are Osun State Deputy Governor Rauf Olaniyan, ex-governors Rasheed Ladoja and Adebayo Alao-Akala.
Others who have visited the palace to condole with Ogbomoso people are Abdulfatai Buhari, Senator Ayoade Adeseun and Governor Seyi Makinde’s chief of staff Segun Ogunwuyi.
