The leadership of Nigerian Citizens South Africa (NICASA) and Nigeria’s Consular-General to South Africa are reportedly gathering more information on the incident.
The alleged renewed attacks come weeks after President Muhammadu Buhari met his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, to find a solution to the attacks.
During Buhari’s visit, Ramaphosa repeatedly apologised over the attacks and reiterated his government’s “deep regret at the incidents of public violence.”
Several Nigerians have already been forced to return home as a result of attacks in Johannesburg and some other parts of the country.
